Welcome everyone to a Post- WWE No Way Out edition of Gettin' open with EdDaDrama.
I missed out on my blog last week due to my stupid computer. I had my eye on things...and by now, everyone here knows what happened at No Way Out. Just a couple of thoughts here...
-John Cena winning the Chamber and the WWE title wasn't a surprise....but only the few could've thought that Vince McMahon's "new boy" Batista would be granted a title shot right after the match. (As if Batista had a money in the bank briefcase).
Batista would pin a very tired Cena, and become the new WWE champion. Vince has set the stage...Most likely we're gonna see
John Cena vs Batista for the WWE title. Here's a hook...Vince to be in Batista's corner to put the odds in the champs corner. But while we might not hear it for now....Bret Hart to be in Cena's corner at Wrestlemania.
-In the other Chamber....No doubt that Y2J wasn't a surprise in winning. Only a few had a really good shot at winning outside of The Undertaker. HBK gettin' involved in this is also no surprise. Looks like HBK has finally gotten what he wanted...a way to get his match vs The Undertaker at Wrestlemania. How do I feel about this match as a fan though? I'm not big on this match if it's simply a re-match from last year. If this is gonna happen, we need a bit of innovation here. For my taste, we need 1 of 3 things to happen...
1-Regular match with a stipulation: Undertaker's WM win streak vs HBK's career. If HBK looses, he must retire.
2-Undertaker vs HBK: Casket Match
3-Undertaker vs HBK: Hell in a Cell
Keep in mind...a Casket match or a Hell in a Cell match could still have a Streak vs Career stipulation tagged to it.
Those things or somethin' like it would grab my full attention.
-Finally I'll say that I fully expect to see Edge Challenge Chris Jericho for the World Heavyweight Championship.
...And if current rumors are true and the WWE won't have a Money in the Bank match, then expect these two to have their
own Ladder match, or even a TLC match. Either way I think Edge will become champ.

Gettin' Open-with EddaDrama
Welcome everyone to a post Superbowl edition of Gettin' open with EddaDrama.
"Post Superbowl edition"? I gotta open up by givin' props to the New Orleans Saints for winnin' the big one. So many things went right for them in this game and at the end of the day, the Saints got the job done and was not to be denied. This couldn't happen for the Saints at a better time. New Orleans have been rebuilding and doin' everything to show the rest of the world that they are still here. With other great stories commin' out of New Orleans, what better way to show EVERYBODY, what's good out in New Orleans? What better way, than to win the biggest game, on what's possibly the world's biggest stage? Goin' against the best opponents that they could in the Colts, The Saints showed the true heart of a champion.
And Speaking of Champions... as of this post we have NEW Unified Tag Team Champs. Big Show and The Miz aka "ShowMiz". "Speaking of champions"...Don't look now, but the Miz currently holds the United states title AND all the tag gold at the same time. Even I gotta admit, THAT'S AWESOME!
THE RANT EPISODE 124 GOES LIVE TUESDAY NIGHT AT 8pm!!!
This week, we will give an update on the latest new in the world of professional wrestling. We will talk about NXT replacing ECW. In addition we will begin to showcase some of the best WrestleMania themes. Also, we will test everybody with a little Rant Trivia. And we will run down the card and give our picks for TNA Against All Odds. Ask The Rant, Outside Wrestling Stories, and a whole hell of a lot more. You don't want to miss it.
That's gonna do it for me this week. I'll be back next week with some more insights and opinions. 'Till then....

Royal Rumble and Beyond?
I know, I know.
It's not my day.
But, I just wrote an E-Mail to WWE and thought that I'd give a snippit of that E-Mail here.
At the end of my not too lengthy E-Mail, I didn't write my Rant name I wrote my real name...
Just incase... You never know...
I enjoyed the PPV as a whole.
However, I felt that the Rumble Match it self was a little rushed and there wasn't any real surprises that I've come to expect.
This is both a plus and a minus...
Seeing, for example a return like RVD last year was unexpecyed and also very enjoyable.
But, this years surprise was... Beth Phoenix... Who should be a Champion and not a Rumble entry.
The lack of and Intercontinental Title match was a mistake.
Throwing the U.S. Title in at the last minute, I felt, just confused people.
But, overall, the WWE Title stayed in the right place and so did the other titles that night.
This is some of the better booking WWE has done recently.
I'd really like to see some big Rivalries though that don't involve GOLD!
BIG INTENSE RIVALRIES!
WWE used to be good at this 10 years ago.
I would hope for a return to real "dirty" Heel tatics please...
Mstar.

In Memory of Jack Brisco.......

The wrestling has lost a true legend. Former 2-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Jack Brisco, has died. He was 68. Without a shadow of a doubt, Jack Brisco was one of the best pure athletes to ever grace the squared circle. An icon of the National Wrestling Alliance, Jack traveled the world defending the many titles he held during his long storied career.
Brisco would go on have legendary feuds with Ric Flair, Harley Race, Terry Funk and a man whom he battled with for years Dory Funk Jr. Their matches would just be typically called a Brisco/Frunk Classic. It was on July 20, 1973 that he reached the top of the wrestling mountain for the first time. By defeating Harley Race to become the NWA World Heavyweight Champion. He would lose the title to Giant Baba in December 1974 only to regain it 6 days later. He would hold onto the for a combined 867 days before losing it Terry Funk in Miami, Florida.
Jack would also have success as a tag team wrestler with his brother Jerry. And they would go on win the NWA World Tag Team Champions. They would have a classic rivalry with the team of Ricky Steamboat and Jay Youngblood which climaxed in a classic match at the very first Starrcade in November 1983. They would move on to the World Wrestling Federation shortly thereafter after selling their share of Georgia Championship Wrestling to Vince McMahon in a move that was simply dubbed, Black Saturday. And in 2008, he was enshrined in the WWE Hall Of Fame with his brother, Gerald.
No matter how you slice it, Jack Brisco's career in the wrestling business was second to none. And he will be truly missed.
Here are some classic Jack Brisco videos.

Gettin' Open-with EddaDrama
Welcome Ladies and Gents, to a Post-Royal edition of Gettin' Open with EddaDrama.
This week your boy is excited for 2 big reasons. One being that the Royal Rumble ppv was a success. This ppv basically set the stage for the Big one of the year....Wrestlemania.
(TNA take notes...this is what a ppv is supposed to look like). The second reason is the biggest news of the week. Edge has returned (maybe at the risk of being too early), and wins the Royal Rumble. So I got a question that comes to mind when I see Edge winning the Rumble. Who's title does Edge go after at Wrestlemania?
-Does he Challenge for the WWE Championship? Currently held on RAW by Sheamus, there's only 1 ppv left to change the possibility of a "Edge vs Sheamus" title match. So far, both Cena and Orton are top contenders for the title and could change the championship status by Wrestlemania. Edge vs Cena? You know that if this match happens, Edge has a big bone to pick with Cena. But what about Edge's former tag partner? Edge vs Orton? These two formed the tag team of Rated RKO. They've got no bad blood between them, so you know it'll be about one thing.....the WWE Championship. This could be a Wrestlemania Classic!
-Does Edge challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship? Currently on Smackdown with The Undertaker as the champion, this could be the rematch that in fact HBK has been lookin' for. Taker has owned Smackdown since Edge's departure, and is odds on favorite to win once again at Mania. Should Edge take a shot of a lifetime and try to kill 2 birds with 1 stone by tryin' to both win the title, AND stop Taker's Wrestlemania streak? What about the other top contenders though? With several top names on tap, there's several possibilities to who could be champ by Mania. Could Y2J win the title by then? We all know that Edge would love to battle him and also kill 2 birds with 1 stone by shuttin' him up, and winning the title from him.
Batista or Rey Mysterio vs Edge? Batista was #30 in the Rumble, makin' him a huge odds on favorite to win....except Mr #29(Edge) took Batista out. You know there's bad blood there. For Mysterio there would be less drama, but a big match for the fans. CM Punk vs Edge? What's
better than winning the Money in the Bank at Wrestlemania? How about "Main Eventing" Wrestlemania as champion defending against Edge? These two have a big history, and in it, Punk has been a thorn in the side of Edge. This match could be huge.
Does Edge challenge for the ECW title? Christian has been holdin' down ECW since he arrived from TNA. It's highly likely that Christian will be champ by Mania if not #1 contender to someone else. Now I know that some are thinkin' "why on earth would Edge degrade himself and waste a Royal Rumble win to challenge for the ECW title"? Well I got 2 good answers for ya... 1, Obviously Edge's old tag partner Christian. These 2 in a match would make history...it's an "Instant Classic". 2 Edge's "real" injury status. If in fact Edge came back too early and is not quite ready to carry the torch of one of the big titles, then at least he can boost up ECW's status by holdin' that title for a bit. Think about this real quick. So far, RAW's Big Show is the only superstar to have held the WCW, WWE, and ECW titles. Edge could now be the next guy to pull off such a stunt. Sure the World Heavyweight title isn't the same exactly as the WCW title, but so what?....If Edge wins the ECW title, he can be either be the 2nd guy to win all three titles, or simply the 1st to win all three titles as currently constituted. Think about it....someday,...some superstar will accomplish this feat. Why not Edge?....and why not at Wrestlemania?
One thing's for sure. The WWE is better for having Edge available for Wrestlemania. I'm sure we're gonna see a new chapter in Wrestlemania history be made this year.
