Welcome ladies and Gents, to a Post-Destination X edition of the Rant's own...Gettin Open-with EddaDrama.

Now in the aftermath of the TNA PPV, here's a couple of thoughts from some of the main event matches...

-The Global championship:
Rob Terry beat Brutus Magnus. Who? Oh well, at least it was a decent match.

The X-Division Title:
Better than the fact that Doug Williams beat Shannon Moore, Williams grabbed the mic, and clowned Moore for even gettin' a title shot. In truth, the talk segment saved the match.

The Tag Team Title:
Hernandez almost single handily beat Beer Money Inc. as Matt Morgan continues to show he's no longer a team player. It's a shame too. Beer Money won't loose again if this continues.

Kurt Angle made Mr. Anderson Tap!:
decent match. But after the match we got to see what Mr Anderson does best....talk the talk. Even if he couldn't walk the walk after gettin' his ankle twisted, he can sure run his mouth. I can still hear him....Anderson,...Anderson,...Anderson....Anderson.

TNA Title match:
AJ Styles vs Abyss was a joke from the pre-match interviews. Styles soundin'like Flair. "Who do you think you are?". Ok, it was more of Styles tryin' to sound like Flair. And Abyss soundin' like Hogan. "Whatcha gonna do......" But to my disappointment, the match was stopped do to AJ gettin' put through the ring at the hands of Abyss. Hogan was ready to declare Abyss New champ, but it was not to be. Ref. stopped the match. Wait, why the ref stop the match? Never mind. It was funnier tryin' to watch everyone fight with that small ring now being broken after that match. I guess that's why they stopped the match. Who was supposed to fight in that environment. The real question is why was the ring small to begin with. This isn't the same ring that Hogan showed us when he got rid of the 6 sided ring. So why the change now?

I'll give this PPV a 2 out of 5.

Gettin' Open-with EdDaDrama

Almost missing out on the Monday stint,...here's a

Monday Night edition of Gettin Open-with EdDaDrama!

As of this post, we have had a solid 2 weeks straight of

Head 2 Head TNA vs WWE matchups. For the first week,

TNA had a chance to get a leg up on the WWE who didn't

do anything too exciting. The "Return of Sting" and the

unveiling of RVD along with Jeff Hardy helped things out

a lot. With that, there's still a lot more work to be

done if TNA wants the ratings to go in their favor.

This week I watched WWE programing only! With Steve

Austin as GM, I wasn't about to miss a beat. The

"Wrestlemania Theme" was a good idea for the show as

well. From John Cena vs Big Show, to HHH vs Randy Orton,

we got to see some of the hottest Wrestlemania matches.

WWE must've checked out my blog last week (cheap plug),

because they're doin' a nice job of showing the new guys

some respect. Dibiase, Rhodes, and Sheamus really got

to make big impact happen on RAW. One other thing about

RAW. After Batista's match against Kofi Kingston, I

laughed so hard as Batista punk ed out a fan who booed

him who was wearing John Cena gear. Batista made that

dude flinch so hard.....LMAO!!

A final note for this week...Stone Cold did so well as

GM, that I'm gonna throw his name into the hat to become

the permanent GM. Austin will demand respect, kick ass,

and take names. He's almost perfect for the role.

Injury may have cut his actual in-ring carrer short,

but he'd be really good in this kind of role.

THE RANT EPISODE 129 GOES LIVE TUESDAY NIGHT AT 8pm
(Special UK time 12 MIDNIGHT).
Eastern/5pm Pacific on BlogTalkRadio.com
This week, we will give an update on the latest new in

the world of professional wrestling. And it's a new day

on The Rant as we hopefully will debut our theme song.

We continue to talk about the new Monday Night Wars and

how TNA is coming along in their efforts to take out the

WWE. We will also continue to showcase the best

WrestleMania theme songs. And we will run down the card

and give our picks for TNA Destination-X. Ask The Rant,

Outside Wrestling Stories, and a whole hell of a lot

more.

That's a wrap...

Gettin' Open- with EddaDrama!

It was once lost, but now found. The Monday night wars. And here to shed some cheers about it is the Rant's own....Gettin' Open-with EddaDrama!

So startin' tonight, the wars begin. Or continue depending on how you look at it. What's a new war here staring TNA goin' against WWE,....may also be called a Re-Match because of the "Generals" leadin' the charge. Of course, Vince McMahon is on the WWE side. No on the TNA side we've got Hulk Hogan, and Eric Bishoff. We had that in the WWE vs WCW Monday Night Wars. Could things be different this time around? TNA have some of the good things that helped WCW get to the top for awhile,..
-WCW had it's own talent to showcase, besides the former WWE stars that went over. People like Diamond Dallas Page, Scott Steiner, Booker T, Goldberg, and a hot cruiser weight division.
-TNA? They got their own talent. Those like AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Hernandez, Matt Morgan, Beer Money Inc, and the innovative X-Division.

Besides all of that, why should anyone get excited? Because it was WCW that made the big splash back in the day. Fans wanna see if TNA can do it. TNA has invested themselves to Hogan and Bishoff's way of runnin' things. As long as they learn from old mistakes, that include a really big one.....STOP COPYING THE WWE. Then they'll do just fine. I'm serious though. All the stuff with superstars jumpin' from one company to another is all well and good. Even havin' people use gimmicks from the other company is ok....not really great, but ok when it fits. But if I see anything like the fake Kurt Angle Screw job(Montreal Screw job), then I'm gonna grill the heck outta them. If TNA really want braggin' rights out here, then they really want to make their own material.

-And the WWE? It's simple for these dudes. They need to simply finish what they've started. From 2009-now we've seen the rise of young talent, and popular stars to freshin' things up a bit on the WWE roster. Legacy members, Dibiase and Rhodes, former WWE champion Sheamus, former US champion Kofi Kingston, current US champion/Tag champion The Miz, and such. With the big one, Wrestlemania right around the corner, we can see that the WWE is lookin' to their proven superstars to make it happen. That's all well and good, but I say that after WM, they really need to get back to gettin' their young talent up. Plus like I said....finish what they started. Stars like Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger, John Morrison and such really need to get heavy spotlight out there. Of course the fall of ECW brought the rise of other young talent. This can be what really breaks things open for both RAW ans Smackdown. NXT has some very nice talent that won't take long to translate to the big rosters in the WWE.
-One more thing RAW needs to do though.....get a real RAW GM. Enough of all this "Guest Host" crap. It could be any of the WWE Legends. (Imagine Brett Hart takin' that job). Or it could be a good way to get JBL back...not to wrestle, but as an agressive GM...that would work. By default former GM William Regal is still in line. Whatever happens, we need a permenate GM...How bout Steph?

-Of course all of this is about the future of both companies. For now, let's just celebrate the rebirth of the Monday Night wars. It's been too long since we had one....let's just hope this war last longer than the last one.

Gettin' Open-with EdDaDrama

Just when you thought it was safe....It comes back to haunt your mind. It's the Rant that we love on Monday's....Gettin' Open-with EdDaDrama!

The countdown to Wrestlemania is here, but I'm gonna go a bit off-beat here. A couple of random thoughts have come to mind and I wanna get them out while I still have them fresh in my head.

-Money in the Bank PPV...If they really want to make a big splash about this thing, then I think it's time to put a nice tweak into it.
Lets put "The Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase's Belt in the air instead of the briefcase. By now everyone knows that whoever wins Money in the bank gets a title shot at any belt they want, whenever they want to challenge for it. Dibiase's betl never had a real title to it, and Virgil is the only other person to have ever held it. This would be a great way to give the belt some real prestige. Of course, once the person cashes in for a title shot, then they would have to give up the Million Dollar Belt, just as they do now with the Briefcase. But what I really like about the Belt vs the Briefcase is the fact that more people may want to challenge for the title if it was a belt. The briefcase had some matches, but the belt....that could change the game. Imagine having the Million Dollar Belt at WWE Night of Champions.

-Breaking up of Legacy...
It was a matter of time. And it seems to be for the better, if it didn't happen like this, then the WWE Draft would've most likely broke them apart. I still hope that Dibiase and Rhodes would stay together for a while longer. The tag division still needs work.

THE RANT EPISODE 127 GOES LIVE TUESDAY NIGHT AT 8pm!!!
Join Double A, Lexicon, EdDaDrama, & MStar for the next edition of The Rant. LIVE!!

I'll be back next week for another dose of mayhem.
'Till then....
