Gettin' Open-with EdDaDrama

Welcome Ladies and Gents, to a Post-WWE Fatal 4 Way edition of Gettin' Open with EddaDrama!

You know what's good! By now, we know about who
won at the PPV. Today we brush on the overall
PPV itself, and discus the what each win/loss
means for the WWE Superstars...Let's get it!

About Fatal 4 Way...

I'll give credit here in saying that this PPV turned out better than I expected it to.Nobody can call this on "predictable". I missed ALL of my picks on this PPV. What was a bit predictable though, was the invasion by NXT or N7. This of course lead to us having a NEW
Doubleya Doubleya E Champion. LOL! That said,
it's the change in champions that will be the gamble here. I'll take it, and give Fatal 4 Way, a 4 out of 5!

So what now? Let's look at the champs...
Sheamus is WWE champion. Winning at Fatal 4 Way was big for him. Since taking out HHH, Sheamus
has done just enough to stay in the "Big Spotlight". THIS win shows that he deserves to be there.
And any talk about this win being a
fluke because of NXT can go to rest. NXT invading don't mean nothin'. If Cena would've won, C-Nation would've said that he won despite all odds. If Orton did, then, he would have
been in the right place at the right time. God forbid that Edge would've won. This would've been another example of him being the "ultimate opportunist". So if it's supposed to be cool for those guys to win under the same conditions, then I don't mind Sheamus winning like that one little bit.

"AaaaawwwSooommeee!" The Miz was impressive at
Fatal 4 Way in landing a Clean Pin on R-Truth in
order to defend his US title! This win is huge for Miz. Remember, his last title run was plagued with him also going back and forth with Big Show as Tag Team champs. Now with the Tag Titles out of the way, Miz can focus on the US title, and perhaps bigger and better things. Dude got the mic skills now!...and he seems to STILL be learning as far as wrestling is concerned...that's really good news.
..And as for R-Truth...With the positive momentum he's had since being drafted to RAW, Truth has made himself a contender. Now with more exposure, it's time to get a new song....really. It's time dude! Without keepin' his gimmick fresh, his popularity WILL
die down reguardless of wrestling skill. If anything else, Truth could simply stop rappin' altogether and still get by on dancing down the isle. Just a thought.

On Smackdown...
Kane has lost it!! If he keeps this up, he
won't have to wait for Undertaker to come back
and take him out....Big Show will do it first!
Kane's interference has lead to Rey Mysterio
becoming NEW World Heavyweight Champion.

This win is HUGE for Rey. Now a 2 time champ,
he shows that he can dance with the "Big Boys".
And all thoughts of Rey being done as a top
contender have been greatly exaggerated. With a
feud still looming with CM Punk, and now perhaps
Jack Swagger, Smackdown should be very entertaining.
As for Swagger...What I didn't like about his
title run here is that he lost his Swagger from the moment he won the title. This was not the same
dude who was ECW Champion. Tryin' to be

serious didn't work for him. Cocky and confident is Swagger...C'mon Jack, get'cha swagger up!

Despite his best efforts, Drew McIntyre lost at
Fatal 4 Way to Koffi Kingston. If I were Teddy
Long though, I may wanna wipe that smirk off my
face by this Thursday. Between failing to make
a 3 count on a downed Kingston, AND THEN
allowing Matt Hardy to hit him with a Twist of
Fate, Teddy Long has much to answer for. Big
Picture,..Drew is still the "chosen one". I
won't be surprised if he gets a World Title shot
in a month or two. For now, both Kingston and
Teddy better watch out!
And about the IC champ...Kingston has had big
success since being drafted to Smackdown. In
general it looks like he got the IC title on lock.
Still, Drew McIntyre seems to have a key

for that lock. Kofi should take as many pictures
with his title while he can.

EddaDrama's picks for WWE Fatal 4 Way!

What's really good my peeps! I got the fever, so here it is...My official picks for the next PPV, WWE Fatal 4 Way...

This card provided by The Rant's Myspace.

WWE Fatal 4 Way
LIVE! This Sunday, June 20, 2010 from the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York
Official Theme Song is Showstopper by Toby Mac
*Card Subject To Change
© = Current Champion

Fatal Four Way Match -
WWE Championship -
John Cena© vs. Randy Orton vs. Edge vs. Sheamus
EddaDrama Says... You gotta like this match on paper. Sheamus has really come along as a top heel on RAW. No surprise that Edge would make an impact straight outta the WWE Draft. You just worry about RKO. All that said, if the match goes as advertised, then I'm pickin' Cena to win.

Fatal Four Way Match -
World Heavyweight Championship -
Jack Swagger vs. Rey Mysterio vs. CM Punk vs. The Big Show
EddaDrama Says... It kinda hurts that Undertaker has to sit out with and injury. (don't tell nobody). With that said, having Mysterio take his place was a good idea. Rey and Punk have unfinished business as long as he's wearin' that stupid mask to cover his bald head.
One side of me though thinks that Jack Swagger is due a clean pinfall victory, and I won't be surprised if that happens. The side I'm gonna go on though is on Big Show. In my eye, Undertaker was an odd on favorite. Now that's out the window. Plus, it's about time...it's been too long since the big guy has had the title.

Fatal Four Way Match -
WWE Diva's Championship -
Eve Torres© vs. Gail Kim vs. Maryse vs. Alicia Fox
EddaDrama Says... No doubt that Maryse is the No.1 contender here, but how many times are we supposed to watch Eve vs Maryse? Fatal 4 Way makes a good excuse to put 2 other contenders in the mix. Alicia Fox has seemed to step up a bit...gettin' a little push as of late. Gail Kim could get lucky. My guess though is that this is still between Eve and Maryse. I'll Pick Eve.

WWE United States Championship Match -
The Miz© vs. R-Truth
EddaDrama Says... Several weeks ago we had these two go at it for the then vacant US title. Truth won in a very good match. That match did two things...It showed that Miz is not just talk. This match also put R-Truth on the map. Now what's better than this happening on RAW? How about on a PPV! THAT is why this US title isn't involved in a fatal 4 way match like everything else. If this match is as good as what we saw on RAW, then it's an instant success...that's what both stars, and the WWE is lookin' for. I pick R-Truth for the win, but I'm not sleepin' on the Miz.

Gettin' Open-with EdDaDrama

Welcome Ladies and Gents, to a Post-TNA Slammiversary edition of Gettin' Open with EddaDrama!

I missed the actual PPV. So while I can't give my usual take on what happened, I will go pro-TNA here about some of the other things I see surrounding the company. Let's get busy!

*Roxxi released from TNA...
As seen last night at Slammiversary, Roxxi agreed to put her TNA career on the line against Madison Rayne and her Women's Knockout championship. Rayne retained her title, after hitting Roxxi with the championship belt, ending her TNA career in the process. Sources within TNA indicate she is indeed through with the company.
Roxxi was not informed of her release from the company until yesterday, which is why she was visibly upset prior to and after her Slammiversary bout. The decision garnered much heat backstage as many feel TNA could have handled the situation better.

EddaDrama says...TNA is wrong on so many accounts here that it's hard to even get started. Off hand I'd say to TNA...Look,
the Knockouts Division is your current "Bread-n-Butter". You want to keep your girls in tact. Especially someone like Roxxi. This isn't like Tara/Victoria's situation. Roxxi didn't mind jobbing to Madison. If given the chance, she would've done it again on Impact. To take someone like that, who was proud to be on the TNA roster, and show her the door...That's just wrong. Personally, I really hope that WWE eventually comes around to getting her on their roster. The Divas could use the help, and Roxxi could use a job she can trust to not just simply let her go on a whim.

*Tommy Dreamer to TNA...
Tommy Dreamer is scheduled for both sets of TNA iMPACT! tapings this week. There is no official word on if he signed a deal or not, but it is believed that one is about to happen. Dixie Carter wanted Dreamer to join the company, and personally reached out to him. As of now, Dreamer is only scheduled to be an on air talent, but many hope that he can transition into a backstage role, similar to what he did with ECW and WWE.

EddaDrama says...I like this move for both Dreamer and TNA! Sure, Tommy could've stayed retired. Sure he's a ECW/Hardcore legend....and Sure he could've gotten more money to stay in the WWE. All that said, look at who we're talkin' about. Dreamer gave his all to WWE. Both in the Original ECW years, and in the years after ECW was brought out. Dreamer remained a Team Player no matter what. Plus, when it was clear that WWE was gonna close the door on ECW for good, the Dreamer simply bowed out gracefully first. Dreamer always put others ahead...and that's exactly what TNA needs. A big name that can deliver a good match, all the while getting the other guy over. Already I'm interested in seeing Abyss and Dreamer interact. Teaming up, and/or going against each other should be quite entertaining. Plus a Dreamer/RVD reunion could be sweet.

*=Credit to the Rant's Myspace.

Thoughts of NXT invading RAW..Last week we saw NXT go nWo on RAW, and this week they got even more crafty. Now...I wanna know, what's really good? NXT had 1 guy win. everyone else was done, but when we hear about NXT season one guys these days, we hear that they are the "graduating class of season one". .
Graduating Class?...
Why push everyone?...It's clear that WWE wants pure wrestling and internet sensation, Daniel Bryan. But it could look the wrong way if DB got a push after getting eliminated, and all, or even some other NXT members was just shown the door. So keep them all on, and just see how the WWE Universe takes them in. Gotta admit, each wrestler there has somethin' to offer. This should be very interesting.

Gettin' Open-with EdDaDrama

Welcome all...to a Pre-TNA SlammiversaryVIII edition of The Rant's own...Gettin' open with EddaDrama!

You know what's good...Not only do we give the card as currently advertised, but I'll also give my picks for each of the matches here.

**Slamiversary card provided by The Rant's Myspace.

TNA Slammiversary VIII
LIVE! This Sunday, June 13, 2010 from the iMPACT! Zone in Orlando, Florida

*Card Subject To Change
© = Current Champion

TNA World Heavyweight Championship Match -
Sting vs. Rob Van Dam©
EddaDrama Says... RVD will win..but how is the question. Sting loves to use his bat these days. A DQ could happen if Sting tries the stunt he pulled on Jeff Jarrett in the last PPV.

TNA X-Division Championship Match -
Brian Kendrick vs. Douglas Williams
EddaDrama says...Doug Williams has been takin' care of business as X-Division champ, AND has beaten Kendrick before. This could be the upset of the night if Kendrick could win. I'm gonna pick Williams though. I'm hopin' for a good match here,...otherwise I don't wanna see this match again.

TNA World Tag Team Championship Match -
Matt Morgan & ??? vs. The Band
EddaDrama says...To tell the truth, all "WE" need is a decent tag partner to get the Tag Titles back. For my taste, I'd like to see Rhino get in on this. Whoever it is, it better be somebody good, 'cause I expect to see all 3 members of The Band at the PPV. I'll pick The Band to win.

Kurt Angle vs. Kazarian
EddaDrama says...Are you kiddin'? No brainer...Kurt Angle!

Jeff Hardy & Mr. Anderson vs. Beer Money Inc
EddaDrama Says...This is what both teams needed. Beer Money needed new meat to go against to keep themselves fresh. Anderson and Hardy were both at the crossroads between being top contender for the TNA title, and just "one of the big name guys". Paring Hardy and Anderson up does good for the Tag Divison, and keeps all for people here relevant. Beer Money has an edge in this match, because Mr. Anderson is not proven as a tag wrestler yet. I'll still pick Anderson and Hardy...But if I had too, I wouldn't bet all my beer money on it. LOL!
